A 'haul' from someone who only last month swore off fast fashion? I promise I can explain! If you read my post on 'The Death Of Fast Fashion' then you'll know that over the past few months I've made an effort to steer clear of 'trend pieces' for the most part and mainly focus on staple pieces. While some of the items in this post might be classed as quite trend based, I know I'll wear them next summer too so I can kind of justify it, right? Anyway, with that little disclaimer out of the way (can you tell I feel buyers guilt?), let's get on with the post!
First up we have some accessories, and I've been wearing both this pair of loafers from ASOS and this chain detail handbag from Penneys to death over the last few weeks.
This bag that I featured in 'Spring Staples That Every Wardrobe Needs' was only €14 and I think it looks much more expensive than that! It's the perfect size for my phone, my purse, a pair of sunglasses, a portable charger and some lipstick so it's been coming everywhere with me. The fact it's black too means it goes with pretty much every outfit I wear.
I think these loafers might be a bit of a Marmite type item, you either love them or hate them and I am just totally obsessed. I had been on the hunt for a pair for quite a while, because I definitely couldn't justifying (or afford) buying the Gucci pair, so when I saw that my girl Michelle (who you should all go and check out), I logged onto ASOS and bought them instantly!
Next up are some super summery items so I am very happy that the weather has been so nice lately! I'm also off to Spain at the end of this month so I needed a little update to my holiday wardrobe.
This denim dress from Penneys is probably my new favourite thing in my wardrobe. I picked it up whilst I was in Belfast and it was £14. Much like the loafers, I had been on the hunt for the perfect dungaree/pinafore denim dress for a while and had almost bought one in H&M a few days before for almost €30.
Everyone needs a good floral playsuit in their summer wardrobe don't they? This one from Penneys, that I also picked up in Belfast has a gorgeous tie front detail and floaty sleeves so it'll be nice and light in the heat. I sometimes find playsuits quite hard to wear without looking like a big lump, but this one sits really nicely and I think I'll even get wear out of it in the colder months with a pair of tights!
The next two items that I've picked up recently are t-shirts. The first one is from Zara and I love the retro feel of it, it actually looks like a t-shirt that I would have worn when I was 5! The second one is from Penneys (again, I picked it up in Belfast) and I know it's yet another striped top, but it's navy and will look gorgeous with white shorts, so I had to have it!
This dress from Zara may not look like much on the hanger, but it's gorgeous on especially with a skinny belt around the waist. It's quite a light material and slightly see-through so I might need to pick up a slip to go under it before I wear it but again I can see myself wearing this in both the summer and the winter.
The last piece is super summery and definitely very trend based, but it was only £4 so it's not too bad. I love these cami tops from Penneys for the summer, they always bring out loads of different colours and prints every summer and they're so handy to throw on with a pair of shorts.
So there we have it, my little haul of what I've picked up over the last month or so. It's actually not a huge amount in comparison to what I used to buy, so for that I'm pretty proud! I hope you enjoyed this post, thanks so much for reading.
