Last month I discovered a few new things and wanted to share them with you all, so I'm back with another 'Loving Lately' post! The last post in this little series of mine (which you can read here) seemed to go down really well so if you enjoy these types of posts, let me know and I can make them a monthly thing, kind of like a monthly favourites video on Youtube? Anyway, enough rambling, let's get into what I've been loving for the past month.
Podcasts
I know I'm a little late to the podcast game and I regret not getting hooked on them years ago but I've learned my lesson! The first podcast I listened to (more like binged on) was 'Serial'. My Aunt actually told me to listen to it back when it first came out, but I didn't really know what to think of the whole podcast thing so I put it off for ages. Then a few weeks ago I downloaded the 'Acast' app and listened to the entire first series in just a few days.
Another podcast that I'm totally in love with is the 'It Galz' podcast. I honestly can't recommend this podcast enough, Jenny and Lindsay are spot on and discuss things that most people would be too shy to talk about (like periods). I have actually laughed out loud in a crowded gym listening to these two girls and I just love there blunt, no bullshit approach to pretty much everything in life. You can find them on Soundcloud - here, or just search 'It Galz' on any podcast app.
Eyelash Extensions
As I write this blog post, I am currently on holiday in Spain, and when I'm on holiday I take the laziest approach possible to make-up, meaning most of the time I just don't wear any at all. I love going make-up free, but without make-up (especially mascara) I do look like a five year old, so getting eyelash extensions seemed like the perfect solution for my holiday, low maintenance and they look amazing.
Louise from True Skin is an absolute wizard when it comes to eyelash extensions and I've admired her work on Instagram for months. Below you can see two pictures of my lashes and I've gotten countless compliments from people on how good they look. The thing I love the most about them is that I'm barely aware they're even on my eyes, they're so light and soft which is exactly what I wanted. If you're from Waterford and looking to get your lashes done, I'd highly recommend giving Louise a call, you can find all her contact details on her website - here.
The Keepers
It wouldn't be a favourites post from me without mentioning Netflix, would it? Last week my boyfriend and I watched The Keepers in just a few days and while it's such a hard thing to watch, the story of Sister Cathy was intriguing. It's six episodes long, and it does deviate away from the main story quite a bit but I think that's needed to make sure we understand the bigger picture.
Another TV show that I got completely sucked into last month was Line Of Duty. I'd seen people tweeting about it before but didn't think it'd be my kind of show but man was I wrong! If you love a gripping police/crime tv show, you definitely need to give this one a watch.
What have you been loving lately? Are there any podcasts you think I should listen to next? Comment below and let me know! Thanks for reading!
