A Morning Of Pampering With Sam McCauley

17.1.17

Hello, I hope you're all having a brilliant start to the week (or at least putting on a brave face)! Last Friday I was kindly invited into Sam McCauley's beauty salon* in Waterford to try out some of their treatments. Until Sam McCauley got in contact with me, I didn't actually know that they had a beauty salon above their store in Waterford's city centre so I was excited to go in and have a morning of pampering.
Sam McCauley's salons have a whole host of different treatments to choose from, there's waxing, Guinot facials, massages and lots more. I went for the hot stone back massage (something I've always been curious about) and Guinot's Beaute Neuve facial. If you've read my post about Lusty Beg then you'll know that it was the first time I'd ever had a facial or massage, so I was obviously very excited for my two treatments in Sam McCauley!

Sandra was the beauty therapist who looked after both of my treatments and she was so friendly it felt like I was just having a pamper session with one of my friends! We started with the hot stone back massage and as I mentioned above, I've always wanted to try this type of massage. Sandra started off with a normal Swedish back massage and then started introducing the hot stones to the massage.

The heat of the stones really helps to get deep into the muscles and I can safely say I've never been as relaxed as I was during this massage. This type of massage would actually be perfect for anyone who finds they suffer from back pain. I love to use the rowing machine in the gym but it leaves my shoulders and upper back quite tight and sore and this massage got rid of all of the knots, so I was delighted!

After the massage (in which I'd almost fallen asleep), we moved onto the Guinot Beaute Nueve facial which is a double peeling with fruit acids and pure vitamin C. I have quite sensitive skin so usually I'd steer clear of anything that mentions something as harsh as peeling in relation to my skin, but Sandra assured me that this was a very gentle peel and would leave my skin looking very bright and fresh, and she wasn't wrong!

As the facial involves using a peel made from fruit acids, the dead skin cells are removed leaving glowing, hydrated skin. When the facial was over, I felt my skin and couldn't believe has smooth it was as I usually have quite a bit of texture and large pores especially on my cheeks. It's recommended to leave your make-up off for a minimum of six hours after the treatment and an SPF is essential to protect your brand new, glowing skin. I was honestly amazed at the visible difference in my skin after this facial, and if you have dehydrated, dull skin, I'd really recommend trying out this facial!

All treatments can be booked on Sam McCauley's website so it's really handy and they have a new offer on different treatments every month and this month there is 25% off of all their facials, which is an amazing deal for such high quality treatments so if you feel like you deserve a little pampering, now you have the perfect excuse!

Have you ever tried a hot stone massage or any of the Guinot facials? I'd love to hear your thoughts so be sure to let me know! Thanks so much for reading!
