Hello! A few weeks ago my boyfriend and I took a trip to Cork for a much needed break and before I get into this post I would just like to say that although The Clarion Hotel were kind enough to give us a complimentary room, that doesn't influence my opinion or this post in anyway. With that being said, let me tell you all about our wonderful stay in The Clarion and also a very delicious meal in CoqBull!
When you enter The Clarion Hotel, you can instantly tell that it's luxurious and I fell slightly in love with the decor of the lobby, especially that green sofa! We were greeted by a lovely member of staff and once we were checked in I couldn't wait to see the room.
Opening the door to our room, I was surprised to see that we had one of the river-view rooms that have a balcony, the beautiful night time view from the balcony can be seen in the first picture of this post. The room was light, airy and modern, something I always look for in hotel rooms. There was also a welcome plate of yummy biscuits and a lovely card welcoming us to Cork which I thought was a very nice touch.
The bathroom was clean and bright, perfect for selfies which is a huge plus for me! One thing I loved about The Clarion was that they had Rituals toiletries in the bathroom and they smelt absolutely amazing.
Onto the breakfast, which for me is one of the biggest deciding factors if I like the hotel or not. Breakfast at The Clarion didn't disappoint and the best part was it was a buffet style breakfast, and they had hash browns! I also liked that they had homemade porridge, croissants and granola with yogurt if you didn't want to have a big fried breakfast. I of course had a little of both and loved it all.
I'd highly recommend checking out The Clarion if you're ever planning a trip to Cork. It's only a seven minute walk from Opera Lane, one of my all time favourite streets to shop on, so it's the perfect place to stay for a weekend of shopping. It's also great if you're looking to relax as they have the SanoVitae Health and Fitness Club and the Essence Spa for you to unwind in.
Next, it's time to talk about even more food (can you tell I love to eat?!) When I asked my followers on Snapchat (penneystoprada) for recommendations on where to eat in Cork, I think about 90% of people told me to go to CoqBull, so I did!
CoqBull is one of those restaurants that oozes atmosphere, and I absolutely love the decor. Located on French Church Street, just behind Opera Lane, it's the perfect place to refuel after some shopping.
Picking from the menu was difficult as everything sounds so delicious, but in the end I went for the Coq Ranch Burger. With marinated chicken breast, crisp bacon, chorizo mayo
and a parmesan ranch sauce, it was absolutely amazing. I also had a raspberry mojito and I'm not kidding when I say I could of drunk at least ten of those bad boys!
I hope you enjoyed this post all about our trip to Cork, and as I said, if you're planning a trip to Cork anytime soon, definitely check out The Clarion and CoqBull. Thanks so much for reading!
