Happy Monday morning to you all and I hope you have a fantastic week! In my previous post 'The Year Ahead' I talked about one of my goals for 2015 being to get fitter and improve my general health. As I thought more about it I decided to turn my fitness journey into a mini series on Penneys To Prada as I love reading these sort of posts myself!
Now, I am by no means a fitness 'expert' and my aim for these posts is to show that if I can get fit, anyone can! I've never been overly into sports. I loved swimming and ballet when I was younger but as I entered my teenage years I got embarrassingly lazy. 'The Everyday Girl's Guide To Fitness' will hopefully be helpful to you if you are also trying to get fit. I'll share tips and tricks with you all as I come across them. You're all more than welcome to join me on my journey and leave comments down below letting me know how you're getting on!
On Saturday, my boyfriend and I went for a hike up the mountains near where we live. If I have to run on a treadmill to get a workout I will, but I much prefer going on hikes or walks outdoors. The treadmill can get monotonous and boring whereas when you're outside there's always something to look at. And with that being said, here is my first fitness tip:
Try Something New
Whether it's yoga, a spinning class or a walk in the countryside, if it's new, try it! Working out can sometimes feel like a chore, so changing things up is key to keeping yourself motivated. I went for a run on the treadmill on Wednesday and Friday and by Saturday I could not wait to get outside and do some exercise in the fresh air. Hikes are great as when you get to the top, the sense of achievement (and the view) makes the hard work worth it!
What's your favourite kind of workout to do? Let me know in the comments. I hope you enjoyed todays post, and if you have any ideas or request for these posts, let me know! Thanks for reading!
