The 1st of January 2015 not only marked the start of a new year but also my boyfriend and I's first anniversary. As I was just getting over bronchitis we didn't do anything wild to celebrate but I was treated to a night away and a lovely meal in my favourite restaurant.
We stayed at The Pembroke Hotel in Kilkenny, I didn't know much about the hotel but upon arrival I was very pleasantly surprised. As we checked in, the two girls on the reception desk were very friendly and walking into our room I was very impressed. I'm quite picky with hotels, I like something that is clean, modern and spacious and this hotel room checked all the boxes.
Damien (my boyfriend) emailed the hotel in advance to let them know it was our anniversary (unbeknown to me) so they arranged some adorable swan towels and the plate that you can see above which was a very lovely touch.
We stayed in a Superior Double Room which had a view of Kilkenny Castle. One of my favourite things about the room was the bed, it was as comfy as a fluffy cloud and absolutely massive.
Lately we've become pretty obsessed with Son's of Anarchy but I forgot to bring a usb stick so we could watch it on a bigger screen than my little 13 inch Macbook. When we mentioned this to Courtney who was working in reception, she instantly offered to let us use her own personal usb stick. I think it's little things like this, when the staff are so helpful, that really made me love The Pembroke hotel.
We ate at Langton's Hotel in Kilkenny, their restaurant is my all time favourite place to eat and it definitely didn't disappoint this time. The dining room is always decorated so beautifully too!
Damien gave me the beautiful promise ring from Pandora pictured above and even though I've never worn rings before, I haven't taken it off. It's so elegant and represents so much to us, I'll definitely treasure it forever. Also pictured above is the two of us before we went out to dinner, I kept my outfit simple with a classic black lace dress from Boohoo
