Do you ever get that insatiable itch to see everything you possibly can? To swim with sea turtles in Hawaii, to see red wood trees and feel minuscule or to take in the beauty of Yosemite National Park? Just typing that makes me want to book a plane ticket and never stop travelling (if only). Lately my wanderlust has been bigger than ever. I find myself constantly daydreaming about all the places and things there are to see in this world.
I took these photos while on a walk the other day. Maybe that's what flared this want to travel. I think that if you don't go out into the world and see all that there is to see, you're not living life to it's fullest potential. Since I'm still in college and haven't got the funds needed to jet off all over the world I'll keep daydreaming. But I do know that one day I'll check every last thing off my travel bucket list!
I recently read this fantastic article about why you should travel young and a few points really stood out to me. Firstly 'Travelling empowers you to take on new challenges', travelling opens up a whole world of possibilities that you never thought were possible. While travelling you may be put into some tricky situations and getting through them will empower you and make you realise you can accomplish so much more than what you give yourself credit for.
The second point that I loved was 'Travelling humbles you enough to realise it's not all about you.' If you just stay put in your home town, never venturing outside your comfort zone you can acquire a unsupported confidence. Travelling will make you realise that the world is way bigger than you ever thought possible and that you're just a tiny fish in an endless sea. This is important because it will also make you value your life more, make you appreciate that you're part of something so huge.
I think travelling grows you as a person and who doesn't love discovering new places?
